Below are some frequently asked questions about the Forest Five event if you have any additional questions please contact the Race Organiser, Shaun Wilde.


How can I register?

The cost to enter is £6 for affiliated runners and £8 for unaffiliated runners, and we encourage as many people as possible to enter online in advance as limited entries will be available on the day.

If the online entry is full there may be an option to register on the evening. To access any additional places please arrive to register before 7pm.


When is the event taking place?

This years event will take place on Wednesday 17th July at 19:30.


Where does the race start and finish?

Please arrive in good time; the race start is outside the Leathers Smithy pub and is a 10 minute jog from the Visitor Centre. The final 0.5 mile of the race will change (see revised route) to now finish at the Visitor Centre. Marshalls will make sure that all runners are directed along the amended route through the woods to the finish.


Where should I park?

The main parking is at the Visitor Centre and there is additional marked parking areas on the roads opposite Trentabank and Ridgegate Reservoirs.

Please do not park in non-marked parking areas or in the Leathers Smithy pub car park as this is reserved for drinkers and diners.


What time should I arrive?

Arrive in good time; the start is a 10 minute jog from registration.


Where can I collect my race number?

Race Numbers can be collected from 6:00pm on race day from the Macclesfield Forest Visitors Centre, Trentabank, near Langley.


What shoes should I wear?

The route is mostly on good quality forest tracks but there are some stepped boardwalks to negotiate.


What toilet facilities are there

Toilet facilities are available at the Macclesfield Forest Visitor Centre but are extremely limited.


Are there water stations on the course?

There are NO designated water stations however water will be available on request from the marshals at the mid-point of the race (the Standing Stone car park) and at the end of the race.


What refreshments and meals are available?

The race starts and finishes at the Leather’s Smithy pub where you can go for post-race drinks and also a meal (a table booking is recommended).


Where do proceeds from the race go?

All proceeds will go to the East Cheshire Hospice.


Are there any prizes?

There are trophies for the first male and female, and for the winning inter-club team. There are no prizes and all money raised will go to our local charity - East Cheshire Hospice.

Where can I find my results?

Results will be posted on the website after the race.


What If I can't make it?

There will be no refunds issued for this event.
